We use a minimum of 90% recycled cardboard for our gift boxes. Some hampers are delivered in untreated willow or paper rope. We also encourage these boxes to be reused to reduce environmental impact. Our packaging is designed to have as little impact as possible. You can throw the shredded cardboard fill in the recycling. The packing peanuts are actually made from potato starch, so can go straight into your compost bin. Alternatively, you can dissolve them in water. Every hamper or gift contains a short booklet explaining the impact behind our gifts and these are printed on 100% recycled paper which is made at a mill that partly generates its power using waste from the manufacturing process, so is circular. We use vegetable inks in printing processes too, as these are more eco-friendly than alternatives. At Social Supermarket, we endeavour to be as environmentally conscious as possible. We always aim to minimise plastic waste throughout our packaging and products. Every year, we look at how we can tread more lightly on this earth.
