Designed and made in Utrecht, the Netherlands My name is Marianne de Groot-Pons, graphic designer of Pons Ontwerp visual communication in Utrecht and initiator of the Marie Bee Bloom brand and the seeded masks. In all the years I’ve been working as a graphic designer, I’ve also polluted the earth with my designs for prints and packaging, so I want to do something back for the earth. At the same time, I want to bring the subject of ‘roaming and sinking disposable plastic and the ban on it' back into the spotlight. After stumbling for weeks over all the blue disposable masks on the street during the Covid pandemic, I woke up one morning with the idea of a biodegradable mask with flower seeds inside. It was a great success, I received orders from all over the world and a lot of media attention. The seeded masks went viral ;-) At the moment, we deliver in Europe because the seeds are only allowed on our continent. But, we are working on our plan to Bloom the whole wide world with masks and other creative products with seeds inside. Earth happy, bees happy, nature happy, people happy. Marie Bee Bloom.
